The Do Not Track app is created by Disconnect a privacy company found in 2011.

Our motivation

Today, thousands of companies track our online activity. A handful of mega corporations around the world effectively and profitably control access to our detailed personal information. Our incredibly valuable information is used by companies to target ads, but is also available to governments, employers, health and financial companies, and many others.

Disconnect is founded on a basic principle: that people should have the freedom to move about the Internet - and their lives - without anyone else looking over their shoulder.

We believe that people should have the right to determine their own optimum level of privacy and how their personal information is treated. We are here to educate, inform, and empower people with tools and solutions that provide insight into what’s happening with their digital data and give them control over who has access to it.

We want to live in a world where everyone is able to move through their lives without worry that their activity might be tracked, their interests scrutinized, or their privacy compromised now or in the future.

We intend to be an advocate for every individual on every device, and to create enduring, positive change in the way our personal data is created, managed, controlled, and shared.
